As babies grow into toddlers, and toddlers grow into pre-schoolers they develop their visual perceptual skills. They learn to distinguish objects grouping them often as same or different. This can be based upon the shape, the color, the function, the animate or inanimate, as well as material composition. This is done with visual perception and the practice with grouping comparing and contrasting characteristics of what they are seeing. Are these the same? Are they different? Why? Why Not? Have fun with your little one! Margaret M. Savino
