Manicured lawns of native grasses and beautifully designed gardens featuring heirloom flowers provide an inviting backdrop for large scale sculpture as well as a range of outdoor programs.
Bronze and stone sculpture from the collection are sited in the 1.5 acre Sculpture Gallery and throughout the grounds. Thematic exhibitions are presented on a two-year cycle. On view through November 2009 is Hidden Designs: Sculpture by Wendy Ross.
The Sculpture Gallery hosts a popular summertime Concerts in the Garden series and OctoBIRDfest each fall as well as education programs spring through autumn." Hidden Designs:
June 2008 - November 2009
A naturalist working with a geometrician's mindset, public artist Wendy Ross creates abstract welded-steel constructions that draw on physics, biology, and architecture. Six large-scale works suggest the rhythms, patterns, and tensions of living organisms.
