Draft Horse Log Pulling Competition 2010 Midwest USA

Logging in the Northwoods of Wisconsin in the early days of the 19th century would not have been possible without the dedicated Draft Horses who pulled their weight in logs to bring them to the waterways which floated them to lumbermills. ....Klondike Days is a re-enactment of the early trading life of the 1700's & 1800's in Northern WI. It includes many activities like this Draft Horse team log pulling competition. Teams hook-up to thousands of pounds of timber, pulling from a dead stop to test their ability to pull tremendous weight as well as the speed with which they cover the distance.....This competition celebrates the strength, endurance and temperament of the draft horse teams, and brings enjoyment to the owners and observers...
